Cast Iron didn’t start with a growth plan. It started with a question: Why does everyday coffee so rarely taste the same twice?
In Barberton, roasting began quietly. There was no rush to expand, no urgency to release new coffees for attention. There was just repetition.
Roast. Taste. Adjust. Repeat.
Again and again until the coffee behaved the same way week after week. Variables were removed. Profiles were refined. Flavour was protected.
Cast Iron didn’t grow because it was loud.

We roast on a Allio roaster for one reason: control. Not to remove craft, but to protect it.
We cup constantly. We compare against reference profiles. Adjustments are small and deliberate. If a roast can’t be repeated with confidence, it isn’t finished.
A perfect roast, for us, isn’t dramatic. It’s sweet. Balanced. Familiar.
The goal isn’t to impress once. It’s to be trusted daily.
